1873: SATURDAY, SWEET SATURDAY

DURING THE 19TH CENTURY, THE NORM WAS A DAY THAT BEGAN AT DAWN AND WENT UNTIL 6 AND SOMETIMES 7 P.M. MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY. AS SEEN IN THIS ARTICLE, SATURDAY NIGHT WAS A TIME TO REALLY LOOK FORWARD TO AS A BRIGHT SPOT IN A VERY BLEAK WORK WEEK.
