1986: SIR VIDEO

DO YOUR REMEMBER WHEN THERE WAS A PROLIFERATION VHS VIDEO TAPE RENTAL STORES? THE NON-MECHANICAL TECHNOLOGY OF THE DVD HAS RENDERED THIS ONCE VERY POPULAR BUSINESS VENTURE IRRELEVENT. THAT'S NOT TO SAY THAT THERE AREN'T MANY FOLKS STILL USING VHS, BUT DVD'S
AND HD TELEVISION SETS ARE QUICKLY BECOMING THE NORM. MOST LOCALS WILL RECALL "SIR VIDEO." IT'S INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT MS. PANZITTA RECOMMENDED THE SONY "BETA" VERSUS THE JVC "VHS" SYSTEM. SONY'S BETA WAS INDEED SUPERIOR TO VHS, NOT ONLY IN PICTURE AND SOUND QUALITY, BUT BY VIRTUE OF THE FACT THAT THE TAPE IN THE BETA RECORDER PASSED THROUGH THE VIDEO HEADS IN A "U" SHAPE, RATHER THAN THE COMPLICATED TRACK WHICH VHS CHOSE. A TRACK WHICH LEAD TO MANY DAMAGED TAPES.
