WHEN THIS REAL ESTATE AD APPEARED IN THE LOCAL PRESS IN 1887, ENGLISH AND GERMAN CITIZENS WERE IN THE MAJORITY OF THE AREA WE KNOW OF AS CHAMBERSBURG TODAY. IT WASN'T UNTIL THE VERY LATTER PART OF THE 19TH CENTURY AND EARLY 20TH CENTURY WHEN THE ITALIAN IMMIGRANTS BEGAN TO SETTLE IN THE BOROUGH, MAINTAINING AN INCREDIBLY CLEAN AND THRIVING COMMUNITY WELL INTO THE 2Oth CENTURY.
