1933: The Hamilton Township Library Bookmobile

Before Hamilton evolved into a megalopolis, back when the landscape was dotted with open fields and farmland, Hamilton's library system consisted of a system of branches in various towns. There was a library station at a number of our schools, and also in private homes. The photo in this post shows the roving library truck visiting Holy Angels School on So. Broad Street.
Note the headline: "Hamilton Township Library Truck Is Proving Popular with Children." One wonders if the visiting library truck would be popular in this year of 2006.
