1959: EWING TOWNSHIP-THE WAY WE WERE

Thanks to Mr. Bob Kelly for this fine photo of the intersection of Parkway and Parkside Avenues as it was back in 1959. I worked just down the street at Parkside and Olden in what I thought was a secure job with the old Trenton Bearings Company which morphed into the Brown Bearing and Supply Company. After 42 years of loyal service, I found that it was a dead end bankrupt venture that had the principals turned over to their sons and the company going Chapter 11.

Hi Tom: Thanks for such a nice shot of Parkway and Parkside avenues. I lived down Parkside on Carteret across from the tennis courts. This photo brings back so many happy memories. I used to walk all around this area it was great. We used Parkside to drive to a lot of places. Thanks again. You're my connection to my hometown.

Once gain Tom, I enjoy your old pics of the area, especially my favorite part of Trenton (West). My parents almost purchased the house shown in the picture on the corner of Parkside and Parkway back in 1967, but decided on something further down Parkside Ave. I still ride through this intersection on an almost daily basis.
