1936: Trenton's Central Phone Center

"Number, Please!" This was the era of the "Elliot Ness" upright phone and two and three party lines. The Glover's didn't enter the telephone fraternity until the middle of the 1940's. As I recall, our phone was answered after 2 rings. If it rang 3 times it was an unknown party, and I must confess some of us occasionally eavesdropped!
1949: Remember this?

I assembled this graphic for display on my www.kuser-school.blogspot.com, my Kuser School website. However, I felt that there were many viewers who attended other grammar schools who also remember this great old literary classic. I was a subscriber of that old weekly from my very first years at Kuser School.
1869: Yes, Even then We had Anti Social Idiots

"No matter how things change, they stay the same." So you thought that the creeps who go around "tagging" our buildings, signs, and walls with graffiti, and other public acts of destruction was unheard of in the past. Check this "oldie" from 1869. There is a very significant difference, however. If the young men were caught, their names WOULD be published in the newspapers, and they WOULD be looking through steel bars where they belong.
1926: Bobashela and the old Trenton High School

What a great photo of the old Trenton High! Someone told me that the Trenton Library was looking for old copies of the "Bobashela." If any friends of the Trenton Library happen to read this, AND if the Trenton Library doesn't have this particular copy of the yearbook, contact me and it will be donated for your archives.

1951: "Tulip Time"

What wonderful memories! I can still sing the music from this great old operetta. It was the first performed by Hamilton High in their first year of 1931. It was repeated again in 1941, and ten years later, in my year, 1951. The high schools stopped performing the "old fashioned" operettas, which very effectively relegated Gilbert and Sullivan, and other masters of the craft to the musical graveyard.
