1905 (Ca. 1905) FRANKLIN PARK AREA

This is an un-dated plat map showing the layout of what would become the neighborhood of Franklin Park. I have given it an arbitrary circa 1905 date, but I believe it was developed earlier. I will continue my search for more definitive info as to the date the development was established.

Tom,

I'm curious about tracts 1-21 shown on this map of the Franklin Park development. Are these tracts in Trenton or Hamilton Township? As I understand it, the area within the lines was part of Hamilton Township until annexed by the City of Trenton in 1900. It also seems odd to me that the border with Trenton prior to the annexation in 1900 ran on a diagonal from Lalor/S. Broad intersection to near the Liberty/Chambers intersection. I realize that this particular area was part of the Borough of Chambersburg until its incorpoartion into Trenton in 1888 but this border doesn't seem to follow any natural or geographical pattern.

HI STEPHEN:

It is my belief that the map as illustrated encompasses the city of Trenton. I believe the other side of Cedar Lane marks the boundary of Chambers Street, but I am not 100 percent sure. Perhaps a visitor can come to the rescue.
