1930'S: THE OLD HEIDELBERG

HOW I LOVED THAT RESTAURANT! THE INTIMACY OF THE PLACE AND THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT. LOUISE BAIRD, JUDY AND I DINED THERE VERY FREQUENTLY ON SUNDAY AFTERNOONS IN THE EARLY 50'S. "POP" MITCHELL, HHS PRINT SHOP TEACHER WAS A REGULAR AT THE HEIDELBERG.

What memories I have of Sunday afternoons there also. My parents had a restaurant on Hamilton near St Francis and we were closed on Sunday. My dad would take the family to the Heidelberg or to the Kent Cafe just to get away a bit. Long after all of that, when my dad passed away and we buried him in St Mary's, we had all the relatives at the Heidelberg for lunch and everyone reveled in old memories. Thanx for the pics and what they bring to mind.
