I love this 1964 photo of Route 33 in the Deerwood section of Hamilton. Many familiar signs including the legendary "Tony Cal's" This graphic is from the "RESTAURANTS AND EATERIES" folder in the Local History Collection of the Hamilton Township Public Library.

1964? I was just driving back then, but, heck, it had to be more modern appearing than that! There's Ralph Luccarella's Hamilton Lanes on the right. I guess, Lockwood's Drive In and Mercer Marine is a bit further down the road. And wasn't there a Gino Marchetti burger joint, or is that too early?
Right on Rt. 33, near the area approximately where the new WaWa is, I remember my dad taking me swimming in an inground pool club around 1970. There were maybe 2 pools. Does anyone else remember this?
Was that Paradise Swim Club? and wasn't there another site owned by the same group up on Princeton Pike in Lawrence Twp?
Geez, I doubt you could have done more to destroy the quality of the photo if you'd tried. Totally decimated. At least add your 1995 era borders losslessly rather than recompressing the photo.
The swimming pools you are remembering were off of Route33 at (now)Paxson Avenue Ext. where the ambulance squad is located (across from Walgreens). I used to take swimming lessons there, as well. Probably somewhere between 1973-1975.
My father worked for Caldwell Metal at the time this picture was taken. This is a view I saw so many times as a child when he would take me to the shop.
Gino's was located on Rt. 33 @ the present site of Popeye's.
You could do better?
