How I love these "then and now" graphics. Above is another of those incredibly beautiful R.C. Maxwell photos from the Duke University Archives which has been converted to grayscale mode. The familiar Clin-Mott Cafe which is on the corner of So. Clinton Avenue and Mott Street in Chambersburg was the successor to the old Vogel's Cafe, a photo of which is depicted in the top graphic, along with an ad from one of my old newspapers. Incredible picture. I was born 78 years ago on mott street approximately in a house right where that red car is parked. Roeblings across the steet. My maternal grandparents lived about 15 houses down and my paternal grandparents had a grocery store around the corner on Hudson street. I'll show this picture to my 2 grandaughters living in a "swanky" house in Santa Barbara.They have no idea what rowhouses looked like. Thanks for the memories.Priceless. Lee - Tuesday, March 06, 2012

Great picture!!! Lee, that's interesting, my Grand mom's house was right by where that red car is too. She lived in #10 Mott. The whole family lived in the houses on that block of Mott. Our families had to have known each other. My Great-Grandfather's house was #26. Their name was Granaldi.
