1898: THE TRENTON EVENING TIMES FIRST ANNIVERSARY

How the technology has evolved over these 100 plus years! Below is an engraving of the Cox press that was used in the printing of the Trenton Evening Times back in the latter part of the 19th century! The article above and the engraving below are from a special Trenton Evening Times "EXTRA" supplement that provides a very revealing look at early newspaper production. Today we have scanners, electronic transmission, and up to the second news with online editions of newspapers all over the world.

1934: WHITE HORSE GIRLS RAISE MONEY FOR THE TRENTON TIMES ICE FUND


These lovely girls worked quite hard in their collective effort to raise money for the annual Trenton Evening Times Ice Fund. As can be seen in the caption, they were successful!

1939: A ZANY IDEA THAT NEVER TOOK OFF

Imagine NFL teams outfitted in the grotesque padded uniform which was suggested by a few
"safety conscious people back in 1939. Further imagine the entire team wearing these padded uniforms. A pass is received on the 2nd down, and the received walks rapidly to a touchdown!

1913: "Obcene" Shows at the Trent Theater

Based upon the risque trash we are seeing in the movies and on television, and hearing much of the noise that passes as "music" today, the debauchery described in the attached article from 1913 is like a chapter out of Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm. I would assume that the lady who caused all the ruckus was guilty of performing on stage without covering her legs. How far we have come!
