1938: GERMAN BUND COMING UNDER INCREASED SURVEILLANCE

As Adolph Hitler rose to power in the 1930's, there were a number of citizens who were enamored at first by his glib tongue and promises of a bigger and better Germany. Small groups of German Americans became Bund members. Most of them vacated the Bund when the true character of  Anti Jew, Anti Catholic, and white Aryan superiority brought forth the Nazi concept of a "Master Race."

Before the atrocities committed by the Nazi party during WWII, there was an organization which proclaimed their enemies to be the Communists who were infiltrating American labor organizations.
