1940's and 50's: Time for a Nostalgia Break!
That girl in the photo above is probably listening to "Meet Corliss Archer" or "A Date With Judy" as she does her homework in her rolled up jeans and Bobbysox. It is typical of those lovely girls I grew up with back before the advent of TV and the increasing exploitation of women that followed. The lovely example of true femininity in the photo below, brings back precious memories of a Sunday afternoon with my then girl friend Judy as we drove out to dinner at the Old Heidelberg, or perhaps Landwehr's or the Glendale for dinner in my 1952 Willys "Aerolark.". My dear wife Judy was a fashion plate back during those years. White gloves, a crinoline skirt, and sheer wholesome female beauty.

1965: FROM THE "RESTAURANTS AND EATERIES" FOLDER
Here's an interesting page from a June, 1965 "HAMILTON LIFE" weekly newspaper showing some of the restaurants available during the 50's and 60's. The Old Heidelburg was a regular Sunday dining experience for my wife and I during that time, as was Jim's Country Diner.

2008: THANK YOU RANDY RIGGS!
There are undoubtedly many nice photos of the "Old Heidelberg" but this one from Randy Riggs is one of the best I have seen. It was taken at just the right angle and it really spurs many sweet memories for me personally. Back in the 1940's and 1950's, my wife Judy and I spent many Sunday afternoons having dinner at that great old restaurant with our adopted aunt, Louise Baird, Hamilton High School' vocal music teacher. I always ordered their "weinerschnitzel."While Judy and Ouise ordered German Pot Roast with red cabbage.

FROM RANDY, AND AGAIN RANDY, MANY THANKS FOR THE BEAUTIFUL PHOTO.
FROM RANDY, AND AGAIN RANDY, MANY THANKS FOR THE BEAUTIFUL PHOTO.
Hi Tom,
I was visiting Trenton in 1992 and stopped by the Old Heidelberg and grabbed this photo. It was closed the day I was there. I sure enjoyed eating there with my family as a kid.
Enjoy,
D. Randy Riggs
