1939: Ca. 1939 Mercerville Carnival

The above graphic was originally a black and white 3 or 4 column inch ad for the American Legion Post 31 carnival on route 33 in Mercerville. It looked so "blah," that I brought image editing software into play and made it into a broadside that could have appeared on telephone poles in rural Hamilton.

1941: American Legion Post 31

Any time I hear the organizational name "American Legion," I automatically think of the area's legendary "Post 31." Back in the winter of 1941, fresh into the conflagration that was World War II, the Legion embarked on a project to sign up vets of World War I to aid in various local defense causes.

1946: A LOCAL BASEBALL DYNASTY

ALL THROUGH MY EARLY TEENS AND INTO ADULTHOOD, IT ALWAYS SEEMED THAT POST 93'S BASEBALL TEAMS WERE AT THE TOP OF THE GAME. I REMEMBER ONE OF THE PLAYERS WHOSE FIRST NAME I FORGET, WAS A REAL PRO. SCHNORBUS? MAYBE AN OLD SCHROTH'S 93 FAN CAN HELP ME HERE.
