1898:TRENTON SCHOOLS

I have no source on the article above. The date is penned is as September, 1898. It is believed that the source was the Daily State Gazette. The graphic is from my "TRENTON SCHOOLS, MISCELLANEOUS" file and is a relatively good photo of McKinley Grammar School, which was the site of the very earliest Trenton High School. The building ultimately became too small for the number of students, and the high school on Hamilton and Chestnut Avenues was built.

1930 THE STATE OF TRENTON SCHOOLS

This rather large article took up the better part of a full page of the newspaper. Accordingly, I have extracted just the article which tells of the state of the school system in Trenton during the Great Depression year of 1930.
