1950: REMEMBER GOULD'S AUTO PARTS, UAW-CIO HALL, ETC.

I have taken the original "wide angle" portion of this photo, zoomed in and enlarged it in order to highlight the merchants and establishments along this stretch of South Broad Street. J.B. VanSciver's tower can be seen in the distance.

The mention of the UAW hall, encourages me to tell you that the building on which the sign is shown, was owned by Sam Guidotti, who was a car salesman for Capitol Motors just down So. Broad St.
Sam organized both the salesmen, and the mechanics into a union. He also ran an upscale restuarant named "Armando"s" I believe in defference to Armondo Conti from Trenton Beverage who fronted him the cash to open up the place.

Oddly enough, your favorite
"Tomatoe Pie" maker "Delorenzo's" was originally on the first floor when Rick Delorenzo and I went to Jr.#4 back in the 40's.
You can alos see the "historic" Eagle Tavern in the photo. This was Art Holland's financial fiasco.
All the citie's money went in, and nothing came out, after several attempts to resurrect it.

Best wishes for a happy summer at the "Park".which I drove by last month after visiting the graves of my parents at Holy Cross Cememtary off Cedar Lane.
Impressive what they have done to the Kuser Property.
