1936 SOUTH BROAD APPROACHING LIBERTY ST.

That would be Bonderchuk Chevrolet where the "USED CARS" sign is located. In the background is the familiar bank at the corner of Liberty and South Broad Street...another pristine photo from the R.C. Maxwell Collection in the Duke University Archives Collection.

Thanks for showing this "Landmark" photo. The house on the right with the white pillars is where I lived from 1956 until I left my mother's largess and married 50 years ago this August. 1308 So. Broad remained in our family until the mid 60's when Mom moved in with my sisters. Pat's diner sigh can still be seen on just down on the corner. Moses's Cleaners was where the white faced garage is, and Agabeti shoe repair was next to us where the large glass window is. Will share this with my two remaining sisters.
Thanks for the memories.
