What a delightful photo! You are on South Broad Street looking north toward State. All the old time stores can be seen lining both sides of South Broad Street. The original of this R.C. Maxwell Photo from the Duke University Library was scanned at 300 dots per inch. However, in order to stay within the bounds of reason, I have reduced it to a reasonable size. However, when I open the original and view the full graphic, it felt like I was standing on the sidewalk in downtown Trenton on April 6, 1937!Hi Mike: I have visited the Trenton Jewish Project. Very nice material and a tribute to those of the Jewish faith. I intend to re-visit on a regular basis as that area of Trenton is of great interest to me.

You are right, this is a fantastic photo. I sent you the same one last year, or early this year along with several other photos of South Trenton's "Jew Town"
This Maxwell photo is 10 times better than that which I have. BTW: speaking of Jew Town, Herb Spiegel of the Famous Herman Spiegel fine Furniture family put me onto the "Trenton Jewish Project". A similar column such as your great blog. They have some wonderful photos of people and places along Union, and Market Street. Worth a look.
