The Rossi name in Trenton-Chambersburg is legendary. I leave it to my faithful visitor and buddy Ralph Lucarella to fill us in on additional info on those stars whose photos appear in the above graphic.

Hi Tom....Ben Olinski and Irv Kern were players I knew well from T.H.S. and also playing with them at the Y.M.H.A. Gil Rossi, of course, was my neighborhood buddy from Wetzel Field and Rossi's Bar & Grill in Chambersburg. I loved basketball but could'nt compete too well cause of my size, even though they had a center jump after each basket in those days. 20 or 30 points were high scores. We did have a basketball team at the Post Office in the Industrial League. Best Regards.
