1869: LONG BEFORE SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANTS

This is a fascinating article. "Pollution," sewage treatment," and other "green" terms were unknown. The "swamp" referred to in the article was an area in North Trenton around the Montgomery St. Allen Street area where homeless people, prostitutes, drunks, and other society castoffs resided in tarpaper shacks and other makeshift abodes.
