1941: DE SOTO MEMORIES

THIS WAS THE CAR I DROVE BACK IN THE EARLY 1950'S. AS I RECALL, IT HAD ABOUT 110,000 MILES ON IT WHEN I BOUGHT IT, AND WAS RELIABLE BUT VERY SLOW. CHRYSLER CORPORATION'S "FLUID DRIVE" WAS COMPETING WITH GENERAL MOTORS' "HYDROMATIC DRIVE" IN THE EARLY STAGES OF AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. TRUST ME FOLKS, TOM GLOVER NEVER ENGAGED IN A DRAG RACE WITH THAT CHRYSLER FLUID DRIVE FEATURE. THAT OLD DESOTO TOOK ABOUT 3 MINUTES TO GO FROM ZERO TO 50.
