Demolition of Maple Shade School
For a sentimental old Hamiltonian like me, a photo like this is a very sad image. After over 100 years reposing on the White Horse-Mercerville Road, the authorities decided that the historic old building that was Maple Shade Gramar School was irrelevant. There are images of the various Maple Shade schools in the Local History Collection at the Hamilton library. Maple Shade School joins Rowan-Willey, Groveville, Farmingdale, DeCou, Deutzville, Edgebrook, Washington, and Friendship, schools as historic schools of the past. Please town fathers and mothers, be sure to see that Kuser and Klockner, stay with us; they are both historic treasures!
