Today, unless one is a true automobile enthusiast, it is very difficult to determine the make of that car that just flew by you on route 33. After the early 20th century shakeout as hundreds of American auto makers went bankrupt, there was a period where General Motors, Chrysler, Ford, and a few Independents survived. Let's see....GM: Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Chevrolet. ChryslerCorp.: Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, and Chrysler. Ford: Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury. The Independents, beside the illustrated Willys Overland, included Studebaker, Nash, Hudson, and Crossley.
Did I miss any?
