Circa 1910 Yardville

The building in the foreground is the old Yardville Public School. Today it is an apartment complex. A number of the over 80 generation remember attending school there. The other building in the photo is the OUAM (Order of United American Mechanics) building. A lively social center in years gone by.

Route 156. Could someone please explain how this short one mile road became ROUTE 156. Seems a pretty impressive name for such a short trip.
