Truer words were never spoken! My Impreza literally walks on the snow. Here's my two driveways that were made passable by my Subaru Impreza that is seen in my garage.
So this is the blizzard we're hearing about back in Jersey? Looks like it was terrible to endure, but I bet you had enough pork roll to get you through the worst of it. ;-)
Here in CA, we've been having a winter of extremes: warm and dry. Mid day temps are in the low 70s. At sunrise we see high 30s.
The bad is that there is no rain in sight. Our reservoirs are rapidly becomming dry. The hills did not turn green. I expect a really bad summer.
Happy sledding, Tom! Take your toboggan up to Belle Mountain for a slide!
Wish I had my old steel runner sled, Bill. Would like to see if an 80 year old geezer can remember how to belly flop. The kids today are using plastic sleds that are really not made for belly flopping. One kid had a flat sheet of flexible plastic and was attempting a flop. NOT THE SAME!
And speaking of Subaru, is Nitti's Subaru still in operation on Rte 33 in Hamilton Square? If I recall correctly, they were the first Subaru dealer in the area way back when.
My favorite sled was a late 50s or early 60s Flexible Flyer that was unusual in a few ways. The nose piece wasn't painted red. It was chrome plated and the sled body was very low slung. The rear of the sled was about half an inch lower than the front. For some reason it was able to go downhill faster than any standard sled on our official sled test hill in Lawrence Township. ;-)
OUR SUBARU IS A 2009 AND UP HERE IN NORTH CAROLINA THE TRACKION SURE COMESX IN HANDY. I'M SURPRISED TO LEARN THAT THERE IS A SUBARU DEALER IN HAMILTON SQUARE. PATTERSON CHEVROLET WAS THE DEALER WHEN WE BUILT THE HAMILTON BOWLING LANES. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL MY FRIENDS STILL AROUND. I'LL BE 95 IN AUGUST AND STLL GET AROUND. REGARDS TO AALL.
