SPECIAL POST FROM TOM

THESE GRAPHICS ARE FROM DIFFERENT ON SCREEN PRESENTATIONS I HAD PRESENTED AT KUSER MANSION OVER THE YEARS. I DREW THE TOP TWO GRAPHICS TO ILLUSTRATE "PASTIMES FROM PAST TIMES." THOSE OF US WHO LIVED DURING THOSE YEARS REALLY ENJOYED THE JOURNEY BACK TO OUR YOUNG YEARS. THE LOWER GRAPHIC REPRESENTS ANOTHER OF THE PROGRAMS WHICH MOVED US FROM CHILDHOOD IN THE 30'S AND 40'S TO THE 1950'S.

  1. HI TOM.....THOSE ONE PENNY CANDIES WERE A BIG ITEM IN THE EARLY DAYS. I ALSO RECALL GUYS WHO SMOKED PICKING UP BUTTS IN THE STREETS AND ALSO BUYING CIGARETTES A PENNY EACH AT SOME STORES. WHEN THINGS GOT BETTER CIGERETTES WERE 10 CENTS A PACK. WHAT A DIFFERENCE FROM TODAYS HIGH COST. WHEN WE LIVED AT THE NARDI APTS ON EMORY AVE. MY WIFE WOULD BUY 15 CENTS WORTH OF MEAT TO MAKE MACARONI SAUSE. THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES. BEST REGARDS.
