1914: LEO SALAMANDRA'S LIQUOR STORE
It took quite a bit of "Photoshopping" to take that center black and white Trenton Evening Times ad and convert it into a work of art. The Salamandra name in the Chambersburg section of Trenton is legendary. The family has added a rich historic presence. There are many, many files in my ever-growing "CHAMBERSBURG" folder in the Local History Collection. Many of them are being assembled in an upcoming on-screen "PowerPoint" type presentation which will be presented to the public in a location yet to be named. Stay tuned.
Hi Tom:)

ReplyDeleteI am Leo Salamandra's daughter, Joanne and I can tell you that my father's liquor store had it's opening in 1904. It originally was owned by my father's father, whose name was also Leo Salamandra. After he passed, the store was then owned by his brother Tito Salamandra.
