1920: THE VANOZZI MERCER RACEABOUT

"A thing of beauty is a joy forever;
its loveliness increases'
it will never pass into nothingness"
                                            Keats
At Septemberfest yesterday, it was my distinct pleasure to meet Mr. Joe Vanozzi who is the very proud owner of an extremely rare but more importantly, extremely beautiful specimen of a Hamilton Township made Mercer Automobile. As I looked at the incredible beauty of this automobile which was manufactured by craftsmen who crafted a quality automobile which is truly a marvel of automobile technology. Joe's dad bought this car back in 1932 and kept his promise that he would never sell it. It has been in the Vanozzi family all these years, and when Joe's dad passed away, the car came into young Joe's possession. I took the time to frame this beautiful auto into an attactive vignette showing that indeed, "A thing of beauty is a joy forever." And Joe, thanks so much for sending the photos. I would love to add to this post a note from both you and George Ott, telling the stories of your beautiful Mercers.
