1906 AND 1869: THE SWAMP ANGEL - TRENTON N.J.


2011 is the 150th anniversary of the start of the war between the states, better known as the "Civil War." The Swamp Angel has been part of local history during all of these 150 years. The story has it that the huge Parrott gun was at the Carr Metal works in Trenton and was about to be smelted down when its historic significance was realized. The rest is history. The above articles give interesting insights into that historic old relic, now restored by the Camp Olden Civil War Roundtable organization, and placed in a pretty setting at Cadwalader Park.
