- HI TOM...BEING BORN ON MOTT ST. IN 1919, I AM FAMILIAR WITH MANY NAMES OF THOSE LIVING ON BAYARD ST. IN THE 20,S. MY FATHER AND BROTHER LOU HAD FRIENDS THAT I RECALL WHO PLAYED ON THE CHAMBERSBURG RED SOX. MY FATHER PLAYED ALL THE ITALIAN CARD GAMES ALSO WITH HIS MANY FRIENDS ON BAYARD ST. IT SURE IS A LONG LIST OF ITALIAN NAMES THAT DOMINATED THE BURG IN THOSE DAYS. BEST REGARDS.

- What a fun post Tom and a good comment from Ralph..maybe just names on a page if you live in Kalamazoo..but they are never just names on a page for folks who lived in the Burg area or were part of it in any way by being there back in the day:))

1983: BUTLER STREET IN THE 20'S AND 30'S
Joseph LoBue's "Italian American Vignettes" is an interesting visit to the Chambersburg of our parents and grandparents. The view above is a combination of the page from LoBue's aforementioned book, along with a marker showing the home at 11 Butler Street as listed in the 1905 Trenton City Atlas.
