1929: TO OUTLAW AIR RIFLES AND BEE BEE GUNS

Is there any red blooded American boy who didn't at one time or another lust for a "Daisy" bee bee gun? For me it was the Red Ryder beauty that captured my imagination back in the 1940's Before I saw that annual Jean Shepard classic, "The Christmas Story" with Ralphie and his somewhat dysfunctional family, I had written an early 1980's column entitled, "No Bee Bee Gun, and that's Final." Jean Shepard is my all time favorite satirist; in my opinion a 20th century Mark Twain. I have most of his radio transcriptions on MP3 CD's and I listen often.
