1909: IT'S HALLOWEEN SEASON AND TIME FOR THE "JERSEY DEVIL!"

Back in 1983, I wrote a story on the Jersey Devil for the "Mercer Messenger." In it, I told of my visit to Kuser Farm one night way back in time and on one of those typical windy, leaf-blowing nights. The engraving which accompanied that article has been lifted from my "HOLIDAYS' folder. A very talented young lady by the name of Sharon Tondreau drew it from the description I furnished to her based on material found in my
:"JERSEY DEVIL" folder. Jersey newspapers from the first decade of the 20th century contained many stories of the legendary devil whom some say still roams the pines of South Jersey.
