1935: BETTY AND BENNY AT THE PUBLIC MEAT MARKET
These daredevils who did an acrobatic dancing act atop the Hotel Stacy Trenton in downtown Trenton must have been a really popular attraction. Ryan's Dairy in a previous post and above is an appearance they made at the Public Meat Market on North Clinton Avenue at Olden. One wonders if the Public Meat Market was the same as the Giant Tiger which was in close proximity.

ReplyDeleteThere used to be a huge tire dump right behind the Giant Tiger -wonder what happened to it?
ReplyDeleteThe Public meat market was owned and operated by the Yoskovich AKA Young family. Abe and Hermann were sons of the owners who ultimately opened and operated the Veterans Meat market at the Corner of Vine, and Brunswick Aves. after the war.
ReplyDeleteHerman married my old Skelton School sweetheart Sandra Berger of Bloomsbury St. I spoke with them recently from my home in Virginia.
Public Meat Market had the best Country breakfast sausage in the world!!!
Regards and good wishes
