1903: AUSTERITY AT ST. FRANCIS HOSPITAL

This article is incredibly interesting. Long before 1,000 dollar per day room charges, 2.00 aspirin, and other hard to reconcile medical charges, local citizens were donating to Sister Hyacinth's St. Francis Hospital. These were the years when any and all citizens in need of hospital assistance were admitted without financial consideration. You paid what you could afford, and the wonderful Sisters of St. Francis continued on their live living the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience.
