She was a lovely and very daring "Hell Driver" whose auto daredevil exploits put Joie Chitwood to shame. "Luck Lucy" DiNatale and her lady Hell Drivers were real crowd pleasers back in the day. Don Slabicki, Ernie Plaag and I spent many teen age hours over at "Rocky's" on Edwin and South Olden Avenue during the years when Rocky DiNatale and his fellow racing aces worked on their stock cars. '37 and '38 Fords seemed to be the stock car of choice back then.

ReplyDeleteHi Tom:)
ReplyDeleteGreat Post !!
I went to the Ellis Island site
to see about Trenton DiNatales
and found some who were from
SESSA AURUNCA (Campania) Italy.
It says they lived at 28 Millrose
St , that appears to be wrong.. its
likely Melrose and a different number.
I found this under Antonio DiNatale
who arrived Mar 30 1924.
Must have been a return visit as
it says he was born in Trenton.
wow... I am going to check it out...
