We worked 8 days a month for $18 and it was some help in those depression years. A group of guys from the Burg, including Larry and I, did a lot of physical work that kept us in good shape. We spoke a lot about fighting and he mentioned how his mother feared everytime he got into the ring. I think that was a big factor in his efforts to make prize fighting a carear. I will say you would not want to know a nicer man than Larry Mangine. Best regards.
