1864: NORTH AND SOUTH: A CONTROVERSIAL RELATIONSHIP

The post Civil War northern press was filled with the many acts of terrorism being visited upon the newly freed slaves in the years following the Civil War. Undoubtedly, the Southern press had their own anti Union stories to tell. The article tells of the outrage on the part of some northerners is self explanatory. The animosity which followed the war between the states even today, has never really let up in many quarters, both north and south.
