1924: INTRODUCING THE NEW FRANKLIN PARK, TRENTON, NJ
Once again I am cutting and pasting a small portion of a 1905 map of the Franklin Park area in order to enhance the information in the the 1924 article wherein Franklin Park was formally dedicated by Trenton town fathers.
I image the Franklin Park I played in as a kid had been remade or updated once or twice (1970s). I doubt if the Rocket at the north end of the park dated from 1924. I remember a water fountain near the boulder. Both the Rocket and the Fountain are now long gone. The boulder now has 2 plaques on it ,one has been added with Palmers name on it for the most recent update. Franklin Park & Wetzel Field were an easy walk from our home in the Burg. How lucky we were long ago:)
Love It Tom :)
