1920's: (Date Unknown) CHAMBERSBURG: Trenton P.D.'s "P2"
Long before the criminal element in our society began monitoring Trenton police calls, my 1960's scanner was tuned in to the Trenton Police Department. Along came the hi tech electronic age and it was not too long before the dregs of society went to their local electronics store and purchased a police scanner which gave them an advanced heads up on the Trenton hot spots to avoid. I really miss monitoring the activities of the Trenton P.D. when they went from analog to digital transmissions. I was a loyal listener, not only to the Trenton P.D. but also the departments in the outlying townships. To use that tired "back in the day" phrase, many transmissions were heard which involved the second precinct, or "P2." The building still stands on South Broad Street, a stone's throw from the original Chambersburg site of Robert Chambers' Chambersburg Hotel.
