When I was a boy, the original Cook Y on South Olden and Greenwood Avenue was boarded up and closed. I remember climing though one of the windows with a couple of my buddies who were with me on the way home from a matinee at the Gaiety Theater. We didn't stay long. The sight of the drained and trash filled swimming pool made for a very spooky and scary environment. Today, the very active Cook Y facility is just up the street from my home.
