1979: THANKS TO THE LELAND BUKER FAMILY

WHAT MEMORIES WE TRENTON AREA NATIVES HAVE OF THE TRENTON TRANSIT COMPANY. ANY TIME THE DISCUSSION COMES UP, I FIND THAT MOST FOLKS HAVE AN INTERESTING TALE TO TELL OF THEIR EXPERIENCES WITH BUS TRAVEL IN THE MID AND PRE-MID 20TH CENTURY. OF COURSE, THE MOST PROMINENT AND TIRING MEMORY IS BOARDING THE BUS, SHOWING THE DRIVE YOUR WEEKLY BUS PASS, AND THEN PASSING IT OUT THE WINDOW TO YOUR BUDDY. IT SEEMS EVERYONE DID IT.
WITH THOSE LARGE REAR VIEW MIRRORS, I'M SURE THE DRIVER WASN'T FOOLED. RATHER HE WAS COMPASSIONATE AND LOOKED THE OTHER WAY.
