1934: SOUTH TRENTON HAS REALLY CHANGED

BACK IN EARLIER YEARS AND RIGHT UP TO THE EARLY 1950'S, THERE WAS A JEWISH COMMUNITY IN THE MARKET, UNION, AND COOPER STREET AREA. IN STILL EARLIER YEARS, IT WAS BASICALLY AN IRISH COMMUNITY. THE SOUTH TRENTON AREA IS ONE OF THE MORE INTERESTING AREAS OF TRENTON. THE ARTICLE ABOVE TELLS OF THE ERA WHEN THERE WERE MARKETS ON MARKET STREET WHICH OF COURSE, IS THE REASON MARKET STREET HAS THAT NAME.
