A CLARIFICATION HAS BEEN RECEIVED FROM AN ANONYMOUS SOURCE WHO POINTS OUT THAT I WAS IN ERROR WHEN I REFERRED TO ADMIRAL JOHN S. MCCAIN IN THE ARTICLE ABOVE AS THE FATHER OF PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE JOHN MCCAIN. HE WAS MCCAIN'S GRANDFATHER.
THANK YOU SIR OR MADAM FOR THE CLARIFICATION WHICH I HAVE COPIED AND PASTED TO THIS POST. I HAVE ALSO CORRECTED MY ERROR, CHANGING "FATHER" TO "GRANDFATHER."
THE EMAIL RECEIVED:
As a point of clarification, you may wish to point out that the John S. McCain, Sr. referenced in newspaper article in your post would be the grandfather of the presumptive GOP nominee, Senator John. S. McCain III.
Senator McCain's father, John S. McCain, Jr. passed away on 22. March 1981.

After reading the book on Admiral John H. Towers by Clark Reynolds I don't believe McCain died of exhaustion. There is more to this story on his quick death at San Diego.
