1940: ROWLEY'S BAKERY

YEAH, THEY BAKED ROLLS, BUT THEIR CREAM DONUTS WERE TO DIE FOR. I REMEMBER ROWLEY'S BAKERY. THEY WERE LOCATED ON THE CORNER OF SOUTH OLDEN AND HOBART AVENUES. JUST UP THE STREET BY THE GAIETY THEATER WAS TOWNSENDS BAKERY.

  1. You are sure hitting all my soft spots, Tom. Rowley's was directly across the street from me. I lived at 459 So. Olden, facing Hobart, from the end of 6th grade on. Went to St. Anthony's and Denny Cunningham and I would stop for rolls on our way home to my house for lunch.
