1914: COUNTRY LIFE FOR CITY KIDS


EVEN BACK THEN, THERE WAS A NEED FOR CITY CHILDREN TO EXPERIENCE THE COOL AND BUCOLIC COUNTRY EXPERIENCE. IN THOSE YEARS BEFORE AIR CONDITIONING, THOSE ROW HOMES IN THE CITY MUST HAVE SWELTERED IN HEAT. IN LATER YEARS, THE TRENTON TIMES CONDUCTED A
"FRESH AIR FUND" FOR THOSE UNDERPRIVILEGED YOUTH OF THE CITY OF TRENTON.
