WE'RE ALL FAMILIAR WITH THAT HIGH RISE BELL TELEPHONE BUILDING ON TRENTON'S EAST STATE STREET. FEW ARE AWARE THAT AN HISTORIC MARKER WAS PLACED THERE IN 1914 TO MARK THE SPOT IT WHICH THE HESSIANS MET THEIR FATE DURING THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR. IF MY RECOLLECTION OF HISTORY IS CORRECT, THE AREA WAS AN ORCHARD.
