1912: EWING TOWNSHIP'S "GREEN CURVE"

"GREEN CURVE" IS ON PENNINGTON ROAD RIGHT IN THE AREA OF THE OLD EWING MUNICIPAL COMPLEX IN THE AREA OF THE COLLEGE OF NEW JERSEY. UNFORTUNATELY, THE OFFSET PRINTING REPRODUCTION BACK IN 1912 PRODUCED A VERY INFERIOR PHOTO, LACKING IN DETAIL VERY DARK. THIS IS THE BEST I COULD DO TO ENHANCE AN INCREDIBLY DARK, WASHED OUT PHOTO. OH YES, THE AD SAYS, "LOW TAXES."
"EMILY," IF YOU ARE READING THIS. I TRIED TO RESPOND WITH AN APOLOGY FOR NOT RECOGNIZING YOU. BUT THEY BOTH CAME BACK
("NO REPLY - NO COMMENTS")
ANYWAY, THANKS FOR THE CORRECTION ON MY LOCATING GREEN CURVE. AS YOU INDICATED, IT WAS BY THE OLD MUNICIPAL COMPLEX BEGINNING AT GREEN LANE NEAR CAROLINA AVENUE.

  1. Hi Tom. The current Ewing Municipal Complex is on Upper Ferry Rd, which is off of Pennington Rd. Are you referring to the old Municipal Building for Ewing? It used to be on Pennington Rd. right by my street (Carolina).

  2. Tom,

If I am correct from the picture, this is my house, located at 2149 Pennington Road. It is located a bit north on Pennington Road from what you indicate as the old municipal complex, as it is between Fran Street and Hilltop, slightly north of Upper Ferry and Ewingville Road. It is right when Penning Road starts to go down hill and curve.

If you know more information about the history, I would love to know.

    Best regards,
    Greg Livelli
