1940: PEPSI COLA

"PEPSI COLA HITS THE SPOT, TWELVE FULL OUNCES THAT'S A LOT
TWICE AS MUCH FOR A NICKEL TOO, PEPSI COLA IS THE DRINK FOR YOU."
Back in the 1940's when I was a boy, one of the joys of summer was to get a nickel from Mom and journey to McEwan's "corner store" for a frosty bottle of Pepsi. Don Slabicki and I would take our icy treasures out in the back yard, lay on the grass, and enjoy one of the simple joys of childhood.
