1888: The Fabled "BLIZZARD OF 88"

It started out as a heavy rainfall on Sunday night, March 11, 1888. When Mercer county residents woke up the next morning, they found up to three feet of snow on the ground. It must have been a horrendous storm. In the days following the blizzard, many outlying towns were cut off from civilization for days.
