The lady who lived there paid me 35 cents to shovel a foot of snow from the entire driveway...and I had to share it with my buddy!

Square-boyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19041693.post-59979723703048475712012-08-18T19:43:07.577-04:002012-08-18T19:43:07.577-04:00My parents never discussed money and real estate s...My parents never discussed money and real estate so I was not savvy at all but I'll never forget the price of a tiny two bedroom "bungalow" on LBI in 1962. At the time the "Silver Sands" stretch between Beach Haven and Holgate (about 4 miles), was wonderful and totally deserted with the exception of Tebco's Boat Yard, there was nothing but sand and sea gulls. Then the builder put the sign up and for $5,000 one of those boxes could be yours. My uncle would drop us kids off while he went fishing and it was quiet and we were like castaways on marooned with our bag lunch and imagination. Thanks Tom, you always spark some forgotten memory.

Ed MillerickAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19041693.post-62182509345238876072012-08-18T18:22:08.819-04:002012-08-18T18:22:08.819-04:00HI TOM.....THANK GOD FOR SUNNEYBRAE GOLF COURSE. ...HI TOM.....THANK GOD FOR SUNNEYBRAE GOLF COURSE. Those prices were around $9-10,000 then. All I could do was dream about living in one of them, in lieu of the burg.
ron boundnoreply@blogger.com
